Space

The word “space” is derived from the old French word “espace”, which itself comes from the Latin word “spatium” meaning “room” or “distance”. Space is divided in physical space (matter and energy, encompassing the earth, solar system, galaxies and the whole universe) and abstract space (non physical realm such as mathematical space, mental space or conceptual space).

The earth we walk on is “hanging” in a large space. Created by a primordial bang, or if you believe otherwise, by a religious explanation. Yet, as humans, we tend to create places where there is no space at all. Consciously and non consciously. Stepping on a train during rush our is almost taking our breaths sometimes, because it is co crowded. Our monkey minds are working over time, stressing our bodies by the many thoughts they produce. Because body, mind and soul are not separate things. We are eating our own space by stressing the mind and the body. Eventually your soul dies a little, because alle the space to thrive is occupied to deal with the stress. And yes, of course there are situations where stress is inevitable. Like live events as birth, accidents and other trauma moving to another place, death of a loved one. And yet,… you are the one who is able to become aware where and when you need (more) space en how you do that. To go back to your own original space.

Space is in us and around us. Both in moving and stillness you are able to create space. We create our stories because of the space between the words. A wave spaces between the rising and coming to shore, like the pause between our breaths.
