Hi! How are you?
Thank you for taking the space to visit this website (Klik hier voor NL). Native Space was created from a deep belief that every body has a birthright to their own space. When you feel the space to be you, you are likely to be happy. As a highly sensitive person, I learned that creating space is essential to navigate the richness of life. That is why I love inspiring others to discover how they can take and make space for themselves. I tried to reflect this natural spaciousness in the Native Space logo. Each shape represents an element from Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory (scroll down to read more). We begin with the Wood element, symbolising spring, beginnings, renewal, and growth.
Your space is your birthright, and I believe it is a continuous process. Throughout life, we learn and evolve. Sometimes we need to let go of space; sometimes we need to claim a bit more. This flow is part of being human.
Through my experiences, I discovered that inner space becomes outer space. When you are creating space in your body and mind, it becomes much easier to take your native space in the world. Making and taking space is not a luxury—it is an act of self-love. Love is space.
Through my yoga classes, workshops, and sound treatments, I hope to inspire you in creating space for yourself. I am continuously inspired by my teachers, by nature, by the space between breaths, the silence between words, and the pause between the rising and falling of waves.
Over more than 20 years of studying and having the privilege of guiding people in yoga and qigong, I have met many beautiful, inspiring souls. Together, we hold space for you as you experience Restorative Yoga, Ecstatic Dance, Yin Yoga with Yoga Nidra, sound treatments, or Reiki.
We hope to welcome you soon at my home space in Haarlem, the Netherlands, at L&L Yoga.

The element of Wood, representing the season where it all begins, Spring. In spring we germinate, we grow, we want to make space for what is to come, we are curious and we may experience a restless feeling. Its direction is East and the organ connected to Wood and Spring is the Liver. Detoxing what we held in Winter. Wood’s color is green.
The element of Fire respresents the season of Summer. In Summer we grow into full bloom. We tend to go out more, in general we are more open and want to love, to expand. These are typical characteristics of the Heart, the emperor of all organs. Its direction is South and the corresponding color is red.
The yellow Earth element is representing Late Summer. When we still feel the warmth, yet we know it is time to slow down and harvest what we sowed in Spring. The earth element is the centre and the source. The organs almost in de middle of our bodies are the Stomach and the Spleen, playing a centre part in de digestion of what we feed ourselves with.
The Metal element represents the slowing down and the more inert season of Autumn/Fall. We draw inward, narrowing our space, to harvest from what Spring and Summer brought us and to prepare for Winter. We let go, like trees let go of their leafs Metal is less bendable, so asks for a lazier approach. Its direction is West, the colors are white and grey. The organs connected are the Lungs and the Large Intestine.
The Water element is representing Winter. We draw further inward, taking space to rest and retain for Spring. To hybernate. Water is the biggest circle as our bodies are water for more than 60%. Water contains, can take any form, its direction is North and the color is blue. The organs connected to the Water element are the Kidneys, which are seen as the essence of our being in TCM.
